NOTE 3ds Max 2011 does not support Backburner 2011, and, by default, does not install it. Consult the 3ds Max documentation for information on the version of Backburner supported by your version of 3ds Max. This guide relates to installation and configuration. For help using Backburner, itself, refer to the Autodesk Backburner 2011 User Guide.

Autodesk Backburner Setup

Autodesk Backburner 2013.0.2 Windows version now supports Unicode version of 3dsMax/3dsMax Design 2013. You must uninstall your existing Backburner software and install the 3dsMax/3dsMax Design 2013 Product Update 3 prior to installing Backburner 2013.

In order to work properly with Unicode, you must use the 3ds Max/3dsMax Design 2013 PU3 or newer. If you are using a previous version of localized 3dsMax/Design 2011 and 2012 with Backburner 2013, you can only use ASCII characters for Job names or Output Paths.

Where is the Backburner download for Maya located?

Solution:

Backburner is no longer officially supported for Maya (it has not been bundled with the product since 2014), but is offered as a free, 'as-is' tool from the Autodesk App Store.
